Pottery is a second life chapter for Maggy Ames. At Skidmore College, she watched enviously as classmates immersed themselves in clay. She completed law school, and practiced in New York City for 35 years, representing people with developmental disabilities. Maggy kept a pottery studio on the side, her haven of peace and quiet, and eventually became a full-time potter. She and her partners operate one of the few remaining working clay studios in Manhattan.

2nd time purchasing the mug
I made oatmeal for my mom every morning in this mug while I took care of her. It's roomy enough for the oatmeal, milk, and added fruit. It warms beautifully in the microwave without the handle being hot. The mug warmed her hands and she looked forward to it daily. After she passed I continued using it until it fell out of the cupboard and broke. I immediately ordered a replacement. It's that good.

I don't get why everyone thinks this is for right handed people. I received this as a gift and assumed that the giver had ordered a left handed one for me. It warms my right hand as I enjoy the oatmeal from a spoon held in my left hand.

What about the lefties!
My dad eats oatmeal almost daily and thought this would be a good option for him. I forgot to consider that this is made for a righthanded person when I ordered but also didn't see an option for a lefthanded bowl.

The order came with a box with no padding at all and arrived in pieces. Looked very pretty though! I'm sure I would have loved it had it not been broken.

A 5 of I was right handed
Just got this from my daughter as a Christmas gift. It must have been a popular gift since it took over 3 months to arrive. It was worth the wait. Great design and color choices and the spoon slot is a nice touch. My BDay is Saturday so the timing was good. Like a Gramma review I read, they should add left hand option. I am trying to decide at 71 if I should learn to eat right handed.

Warmed me right up, even before eating the oatmeal!
Loved it so much that I bought another for my husband and we had a cozy breakfast in bed with a cup of coffee! So pleased, I have now ordered 2 more for a relative for next Christmas! So special and so artistic they certainly qualify as both uncommon and good!!!

How about making a version for left handed folks. One of my most important people is a leftie and they frequently have to make do. I love to buy something that is made with them in mind.

Can you microwave cook oatmeal in this or will it overflow?

This is designed to be used in the microwave! It should not overflow unless too much oatmeal is being used.

Hello! Any standard cooking temperature should be fine, as this can safely withstand up to 500 degrees (if not possibly higher).

Hello! It was designed to be held comfortably in your left hand. While it's not impossible to hold it with your right hand, the fit will most likely not be as snug or comfortable.
