LAKRIDS BY BÜLOW began in 2007 with one bold goal: to create a completely new category of "gourmet licorice." Founder Johan Bülow set up shop on the Danish island of Bornholm and started cooking up small batches that challenged conventions about the time-honored confection. In 2024, they became the first premium confectionery company in the Nordic countries to achieve B Corp certification—a reflection of their deep commitment to sustainable production. Their factory runs 100% on energy from Danish windmills, and they were the first in the industry to launch fully recyclable R-PET packaging.
