About the Maker
created by
LAKRIDS BY BÜLOW
LAKRIDS BY BÜLOW began in 2007 with one bold goal: to create a completely new category of "gourmet licorice." Founder Johan Bülow set up shop on the Danish island of Bornholm and started cooking up small batches that challenged conventions about the time-honored confection. Today, the Copenhagen-based brand is still raising the bar, using natural ingredients, like licorice root, organic chilis, wild berries, and cocoa beans, to craft each chewy bite by hand. In 2024, they became the first premium confectionery company in the Nordic countries to achieve B Corp certification, a reflection of their deep commitment to sustainable production. Their factory runs 100% on energy from Danish windmills, and they were the first in the industry to launch fully recyclable R-PET packaging. As they put it, "Nature is our most important supplier," and they're proud to keep people, planet, and purpose at the heart of every sweet creation.

Great Gourmet Licorice Lover Gift!
My Mom is hard to buy gifts for as she doesn't need much, but as she likes licorice, this variety box intrigued me! I bought it for subdividing into gift bags for family & friends with discriminating tastes. It was a hit for all, including (of course) me! I had to try it to give it of course! Surprising gourmet flavor combinations, nice presentation, worth the price! Only suggestion: I would have liked sub-division sharing bags & color identification guides. Truly a unique, "uncommon" item & terrific find! Pair it with a licorice beverage & stretch out the sampling experience with a different chocolate-licorice treat each setting.
