Pottery is a second life chapter for Maggy Ames. At Skidmore College, she watched enviously as classmates immersed themselves in clay. She completed law school, and practiced in New York City for 35 years, representing people with developmental disabilities. Maggy kept a pottery studio on the side, her haven of peace and quiet, and eventually became a full-time potter. She and her partners operate one of the few remaining working clay studios in Manhattan.

Have bought them three times!

Love these so much! I bought two for myself, and my niece fell in love with them so I got her one too, and then bought another for a former student of mine as a congratulations gift (with a medley of teas). They're so pretty, each one is unique, and the feel of them is great (especially in winter when it's chilly, of course!) The handle shape takes a little getting used to, and you need to let your beverage cool a bit before you can wrap your hand around it, but a really distinctive item, I highly recommend!
