Pottery is a second life chapter for Maggy Ames. At Skidmore College, she watched enviously as classmates immersed themselves in clay. She completed law school, and practiced in New York City for 35 years, representing people with developmental disabilities. Maggy kept a pottery studio on the side, her haven of peace and quiet, and eventually became a full-time potter. She and her partners operate one of the few remaining working clay studios in Manhattan.

One of my Favorite Purchases
This has to be one of my favorite purchases in the last 10 years. My husband and I are admittedly not the most passionate cooks, so eggs have been a frustrating experience and always end up lackluster when we've tried them. I bought this on a whim because I was tired of hard-boiled eggs and I'm so glad I did! This little dish is *so* easy to use and clean and the eggs have come out perfectly every time. We've been putting in two eggs for 90 seconds each and the lovely amount of fluff in the end result makes us feel like we're being spoiled. I don't think I've ever had skillet eggs that were this fluffy.

Novel eggs
I love the bagel egg maker. I use it almost every day, making the best egg sandwich. I put a little pico de giao, avocado shredded cheese and egg whites. Yum! I have bought so many of these as gifts for my friends. I totally recommend it. You will love it!

handy and cute!
high quality ceramic that looks cute in your cabinet and also is so easy for a quick egg sandwich! less cleanup than a skillet and quicker to rinse and toss in the dishwasher than soaking a pan before washing. one of my new favorite kitchen gadgets!

Perfect little gift

GREAT QUICK AND EASY BREAKFAST
I WAS GIVEN THIS BY MY HUSBAND FOR CHRISTMAS LAST YEAR. MY ONLY WISH, WHICH I JUST FULFILLED WAS TO PYRCHASE TWO MORE. IT MAKES A GREAT EGG FOR A BAGEL, BUT ALSO, A GREAT SOUFFLE STYLE EGG TO SERVE WITH YOUR FAVORITE MEAT ON THE SIDE. HAVING MORE THAN ONE ALLOWS FOR BOTH OF US TO EAT WITHIN MINUTES OF EACH OTHER.

Is the hole in the center all the way down through to the bottom? Can it use in a steamer?

Yes! The hole in the center goes all the way down and the shape is great for fitting on a bagel and making sure that your eggs cook evenly! While this item can be used in the microwave and oven, it is not designed for a steamer.

You didn't say how one would use in the oven vs microwave. We don't use microwaves but make eggs every day.

The Egg on A Bagel Maker is safe for dishwasher, oven and microwave usage. We usually do not recommend it for the oven, but if you would like, these are the instructions: Instructions 1. Lightly coat the bottom of the maker with your preferred cooking spray or olive oil. 2. Crack in one or two eggs - whisk before in a separate bowl if you'd like scrambled 3. Optional: toss-in and mix with add-ins like onions, veggies or cheese 4. Depending on your oven, cook the egg for 4 minutes at 320 degrees. 5. Make sure the eggs are fully cooked and enjoy!

Does the stoneware or glaze or any part of the product contain lead or toxic materials?

Both the stoneware and porcelain lines are high-fired for durability and functionality. The glazes and colors are all lead-free, and both clay lines are safe for dishwasher, oven and microwave.

You can certainly use this product to bake apples in the oven. As long as the apples are cut small enough to fit inside the dish.

Do you need oils or sprays to use the egg on a bagel maker?

Nope! Just whisky some eggs into the dish and pop it into the microwave for 60 seconds. For a more eggciting breakfast, you can also toss in some veggies to get an omelet within a minute.
