Loved the idea but…

There is a splotch in the wood right at the top. If this is handmade "by experts" why couldn't the wood have been rotated just a bit to put this in a less obvious place? I would recommend but with reservations. It is pretty and a cool idea but not exactly an elegant gift.

Only partially satisfied

The interlocking hearts are darling and are well made, but the names and messages imprinted on them are nearly impossible to read. Part of the 'specialness' of this gift is the imprinting, so that's why I gave it three stars

Love the idea but…

You can't read the words on the dark wood so you really only see half the personalization. Unfortunate.

Great idea; poor execution

This item is great in concept, but the reality of the finished piece is disappointing. The engraving on the light wood was very visible; however, the engraving on the dark wood doesn't show up at all (unlike the depiction in the catalog). I ordered two and was not able to gift them.

Beauty and Function Interlocked

Metaphors express more than simple words. Graphic symbols are similar. This wooden trivet carries the message I of love for many situations. So far, I have bought two of these Celtic knot heart trivets, one for a couple commemorating their thirtieth wedding anniversary and the other for a mother and two sons commemorating their love and future trip to Ireland. The ability to add numbers, names and words personalized that message of love. For the anniversary gift, I was able to add the names and the wedding date. For the family gift, I was able to include the name of each and add the Celtic phrase "Anam Cara," which led to an unexpected gift of a warm supper table discussion of the meaning of "Anam Cara." Besides serving as a message carrier of love, the trivet is functional and decorative. The clever interlocking design enables the one trivet to become two trivets. When not gracing a dinner table, it should not be concealed in a drawer or cabinet; instead, for all to enjoy anytime, it could be displayed hanging on a wall by an "S" hook or resting on a shelf in a picture stand. Here beauty and function are as interlocked as the two hearts in this trivet.
