“I started out from my garage. As the business grew, and my wife’s and neighbors' patience stretched, it was time to move to an industrial space. There I can bang and grind at all hours of the night. It's 1,000 square feet of pure metalworking nirvana.”
Chris Crooks took a winding road to get to where he is now—creating imaginative lawn sculptures inspired by the Southwest landscape he calls home. After graduating from the Art Institute of Philadelphia, Chris worked in advertising, then ran a printing business with his wife, while painting during his free time. It was when the couple moved to Tucson that Chris collaborated with a metal art manufacturer and fell in love with the art form. He now designs and creates sculptures in his studio at the foot of the Santa Rita Mountains. "I always wanted to make a living doing something genuinely enjoyable," he says. "To get up in the morning raring to go, and never having enough time to do everything you want to do."

acrylic paint, sealant, 16 gauge steel
Measurements
6' signpost stands 5' tall when installed. Each sign is 18-24" L x 2.5-3.5" W.
Care
The finish can be maintained by applying car wax once a year or as needed.

Beautifully crafted personal artwork

What to get for the man who has everything?
My father in law, my spouse, and my sister in law were stumped as to what to get the man who has everything for his 80th birthday? Uncommongoods to the rescue again! Wonderful sign! My mom threw away the hardware by accident!
Yikes! My mom absolutely LOVED this sign at Christmas featuring locations of me and my siblings who are all over the globe. We're from outside Philly but our family is now located Colorado to Switzerland. However, my parents were getting ready to install in the garden and my mom realized she threw away all of the hardware. Way Beyond Expectation!
I purchased this for my mom and she was blown away. I've just visited her and saw it for myself and I couldn't agree more. While the description and pictures on the website were accurate, the actual piece was so much more than I expected. The quality of materials and design are top of the line and it makes such a statement in my mom's yard. I didn't realize that the letters were cut out of the metal and that just elevates the sign. It is such a statement piece and my mom and I are over the moon with it. I've told all my friends to order one!

I do love it, but....
I would have liked the option to add 1 or 2 additional directional arrows. As well as it should come with some sort of stake at the bottom in order to be able to push it into the dirt easier. I bought a copper pipe fitting it into the end and hammered it till pointy so I could stake it into the dirt

Better than expected
I was so excited to give this to our daughter for Christmas. She loves things for her yard and she loved it. The post was heavy duty the signs were well made and readable. Once our other children are settled they will get one too.

Additional signs may be purchased under the listing for item 41630, but kindly note that the post is only designed to hold the weight of 6 signs, due to the weight and surface area of each sign. Holes would need to be drilled by the customer into their existing pole, the artist doesn't add additional holes to poles. If you need more than 6 signs, it is recommended buying two sign posts under item 41506.

Will the pole always come with holes to accommodate 6 signs? I'd like to order the product with 5 signs for now, with the 6th sign to be ordered separately in the future.

Hello! Great question, the pole will only come with the holes requested for your original order. Each post may only hold up to 6 signs. Each additional sign ordered will require you to drill into the pole at home.

Can I put the signs on the sign in any order so I can match colors to personalities? Also if I really want a purple arrow can I request that color if I only need 5 signs?

You can adjust the signs in any order you want, after submitting customization you will receive an email asking to approve or make requests to the proofs, at this time you can request purple.

Thanks for reaching out! The customization must remain within the character limit (spaces included). The sizes vary, the guide we use varies from 1” to 1.7". I hope this helps!

The weight of each sign varies so this are an approximation of each signpost; 3 signs - 8.5 lbs, 4 signs - 9.5 lbs, 5 signs -10.5 lbs, 6 signs - 11.5 lbs.
