“I started out from my garage. As the business grew, and my wife’s and neighbors' patience stretched, it was time to move to an industrial space. There I can bang and grind at all hours of the night. It's 1,000 square feet of pure metalworking nirvana.”
Chris Crooks took a winding road to get to where he is now—creating imaginative lawn sculptures inspired by the Southwest landscape he calls home. After graduating from the Art Institute of Philadelphia, Chris worked in advertising, then ran a printing business with his wife, while painting during his free time. It was when the couple moved to Tucson that Chris collaborated with a metal art manufacturer and fell in love with the art form. He now designs and creates sculptures in his studio at the foot of the Santa Rita Mountains. "I always wanted to make a living doing something genuinely enjoyable," he says. "To get up in the morning raring to go, and never having enough time to do everything you want to do."

These are a great addition to my flower bed.
These are made with great precision and look fabulous. I like the rust coloration, but if someone didn't like it they could just spray paint rust reformer on them and paint.

Love these bunnies
Although we have an over abundance of hungry bunnies in our yard, I still have a soft spot for them. I bought the garden sculptures to camouflage some plastic sprinkler pieces in a flower bed, and they work perfectly. Very cute and decorative, and appear to be quite sturdy.

My bunnies rusted terribly. What do you recommend to clean the rust and then protect from rusting more? They look terrible right now.

All of the outdoor items, including the bunnies, are made to rust and darken, with time. If you prefer not to have the rust finish, you could try washing the pieces, then coloring them with a rustoleum spray paint. There are a variety of metallic sprays out there that would do well.

Why is this item being discontinued? I've been looking at it almost every day waiting for it to not be backordered. My mom really wants it for Christmas so I didn't know if there was a way to still place an order or do a special order?

Why things are discontinued varies with each artist we work with - sometimes they want to focus on new pieces, sometimes they just take too long to make, sometimes there isn't a high demand, etc. We apologize that this isn't the news you wanted to hear today.

It's up to you. The patina will get darker faster if you leave it outside all winter, but many people love that.
