Video Game Workshop for Kids

Your kiddo spends plenty of time gaming or gazing at their phone—what if they could discover the secret codes running that virtual world? Unlock your junior genius’ coding potential with this engaging live online class led by instructor Shannon Sadler. In just an hour, students will build and code a working video game with multiple functions, having tons of STEAM fun while learning the building blocks to continue their coding adventure.

• Kids will unleash their creativity as they learn essential coding skills and terminology that will be a solid foundation for future learning.
• Shannon will share additional resources and tutorials to keep the coding journey going even after class.
• With step-by-step guidance and plenty of interaction with Shannon and classmates, students will stay engaged and motivated throughout this experience.
• Recommended for ages 8–14. All children must have an adult to participate, adults participating with children age 11 or younger should expect to actively participate to make the most of the experience.

Class length: 60 minutes.
Comes with the class: Our Create Your Own Video Game Set has all the components kids will need to build and program their own fully functional video game console that also functions as a smartwatch, pedometer, and more.

To purchase this Uncommon Experience, you must be at least 18 years old and provide your email address when ordering. If you’re giving this Experience as a gift, your recipient must be the child’s parent or legal guardian, not the child. A parent or legal guardian must be able to attend the live virtual class with their child, using their Zoom account (not an account belonging to the child or their school). Live Experiences for kids are not recorded, and none of the children’s personal information will be collected, used, or disclosed.
