Thanks to artist and historian Ari Siegel, America's most revolutionary, controversial, and hilarious cartoons are gathered in this 50-card bamboo gift box. Images from the colonial period to the civil rights era are reproduced in their original colors on high-quality card stock. The reverse side features a description and explanation of the cartoon's context. Or choose the WWII-era expansion pack, which features 25 illustrations and posters that convey a sense of urgency, discipline, and patriotism through art. Shuffling through 200 years of American politics, foreign relations, and science has never been more intriguing. Made in Illinois.

Ari Siegel has always loved how history comes alive when you approach it right. He grew up listening to stories from his WWII-veteran grandfathers, went on to work at the US Capitol, where he gave tours to guests, then gained an even deeper appreciation when he started checking out historical documents at the Library of Congress archives. History with a kick!

Bought the initial set for a grandson's birthday and added the extra pack later. What a great way to understand history with a contemporary satirical take on events! The box is nicely made and the whole presentation a delight both for the casual browser and the serious student of history!

My grandfather loved it!

The box and cards were a bit expensive for what they were, but it was worth it to me to have a high quality gift for my grandfather who is a history buff. He enjoyed looking through all the cards and telling us about his memories of politics depicted from his lifetime.

Gorgeous conversation starter

I received this box as a gift. The box is beautifully crafted, but the cards are fascinating! I leave it on my coffee table for guests to peruse when they come over, and it always gets us into the most interesting conversations, everyone asks where I got it! The span of cards over 200 years also shows the change in public opinion through the use of political cartoons. SO fun!

Does the bamboo box with the $50 price include the American history package? I I add the WWII extension, I would add $15 to the $50? and this extension fits in the bamboo box?

The bamboo box and the standard box hold the same cards. The expansion pack is not included in either box. The expansion pack would fit inside the bamboo box alongside its original cards.

Hi! It is a clear plastic box with a label on the top, and is 6.7" x 4.5" x 1.3". You can view a picture of the standard box by selecting it in the dropdown on the item page.
