"I tend to make things I like, things I'd like to have around me," says ceramist JoAnn Stratakos. Once the concept is in place, she uses her knowledge and expertise to guide each piece. In her Pocono Mountain studio, she creates one-of-a-kind glazes, giving her designs subtle variations and unique characteristics. The color and shapes are designed to complement, not compete. I bought a second one!
I loved this mug from the first time I saw it, put off buying because of the price, but the more I looked at it the more I realized it was well worth the cost. It was absolutely my favorite mug, the only one I used. Alas, after about two years it was broken in a freak accident. I was so distraught I wouldn't let anyone help me pick up the pieces. And I immediately ordered another one! This is a good sized mug, the tulip shape is wonderful, the houses perfect. And the message.. I wholeheartedly recommend this mug!

Perfect gift for far away friend
My best friend ever since grade school (we are in our 70's now) lives in Michigan. I live in Georgia. we talk each month and text, but its not the same as talking in person. . I sure do wish she lived next door. There were some issues with shipping, which was not the fault of Uncommon goods. The customer service fellow was very helpful and when it seemed the package had been lost or misdirected, he sent a replacement overnight. In the end, she did receive both, and the return process with free shipping label was seamless. Thank you, uncommon goods, for helping me make my friend's day special.
