Take the next step in your beverage evolution by learning to create hauntingly delicious smoky drinks in this live virtual class taught by twirly-mustachioed Brooklyn bartender Matt Levy.

  • Inspired by our Glass Topper Cocktail Smoker (see "Comes with the class," below), Matt has carefully chosen three drinks to make in class: amaretto sour, whiskey smash, and turf club (a gin-based forerunner of the martini).
  • You'll learn how to give each cocktail its own unique, smoky dimension while discovering expert secrets to creating balanced flavors.
  • The class includes alcoholic and zero-proof versions of Matt's recipes—yes, even simple soda drinks can be transformed with flavored smoke.

About

Since childhood, born and bred Brooklynite Matt Levy has "always liked being in the spotlight," he says. After attending Emerson College, where he created his own Performance Art/Poetry major, he worked as an NYC tour guide, created a unique cocktail club, and now teaches mixology online: all "a natural extension of performing" for him. Entirely (and thoroughly) self-taught, Matt finds it very fulfilling to show people "how easy, fun and accessible it is to make craft cocktails at home."

Entertaining Online Cocktail Class, Perfect For Beginners

I honestly was only expecting to make one drink in this class, but we made three! Matt was very entertaining, informative (warned us that we might spill one drink during shaking unless we were careful, guess which student was not careful!), and willing to field a variety of questions, even those that didn't pertain to the cocktails we were making. Shout out to Jess as well! She kept things moving along and had a very good sense of humor.
