Philippines-based artist Loly Gomez left rice farming behind in 1972 to open a shop, selling pieces made from recycled glass. When her work caught the eye of Chicago designer and entrepreneur Carmi Plaut, an international partnership was born. The pair have been designing together for more than 25 years, with Loly also in charge of manufacturing in the Philippines and Carmi handling marketing from Chicago. "The collaboration is so natural and so wonderful," says Loly. "Like family."

Beautiful!

Looks beautiful and well made. The outer frame of mine was not the same copper shade as the trees, and looked dull in comparison, but the overall look is still nice.

Love, exactly as I expected

Good quality item, looks as imagined. The only thing that surprised me a bit is the trunks aren't hard & immobile. They have a bit of bend to them and move when you pick up the artwork. I think I'd rather it were more static, but it gives an extra element of character to the piece. Overall would recommend

Can a family tree be made with a different color of glass? Gold on amber is not my favorite combination but you have other combinations with gold as your month trees that I like.
