I gave this to my boyfriend as part of his birthday present. He lost a pair of cufflinks really early on in our relationship and kept meaning to replace them, and never did! So, when I saw that I'd be able to get cufflinks with sand from a place we would be taking a trip later that month, I was thrilled. I bought this as a father's day present! He and his fiancé got engaged on the beach that this sand is from. I gave them to him with the comment that I wasn't sure what sort of theme or style they had in mind for their wedding, but if it's beachy or anything less than black tie, maybe he could wear them down the aisle!

Thanks for your question! Once you place the order, you will receive a pre-paid shipping label and envelope to mail the sand from your travels to the artist. You will be provided with a ship date for the final item after the artist receives it. The Custom Beach Cufflinks typically ships 3 weeks after the artist receives the mailer.

The cufflinks itself are pictured on the website site. The reason we don't send pictures of your state or any state is because some people choose to send in their own sand and no cufflinks will look alike because the difference of changing sand.

I see that Mt. Rainer in WA is on the list. Is there sand there, or are the materials in the cufflink more like dirt?

Greetings! The artist maintains a sandbank of collected sands from around the world....most have been sent in by visitors to the beach or other sand locations. Given that this is from a mountain, the texture will be different than that of a beach's, but it will not be soil. I hope this info helps. Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Unfortunately, due to the high volume of orders, Holly Daniels Christensen cannot provide an image of the sands at this time. In general, would need to know the name of the beach rather than a location in order to pinpoint which sand you're interested in.

In the Italian sands, are any of them dark sand? Like volcanic?

Thank you for your question, we asked the artist to check their stock. They replied that while there are darker coloration within the samples it is not a consistent shade of black, nor are the materials obviously volcanic in nature. We would have to conclude that we do not have the type of sand that you are thinking of, at least in Italy.

It looks like our custom orders specialist got back to you with an answer, but in case anyone else out there is wondering, I just want to answer online as well to explain that the item is in a gift box, but it isn't wrapped. It does come with a card explaining where the sand is from. Thanks for the question!
