Not Really an "Experience"
I was really excited to purchase this experience for my wife for Christmas as she really loves chocolate. Both my wife and I agree, the chocolate was absolutely was wonderful. But that was only positive aspect with this experience. - When purchasing the experience, there was a glitch and the chocolate did not come with the purchase. I did contact customer service they told me it did, followed up with an email saying it didn't. I had to purchase the chocolate separately. And even then, the chocolate that was received, did not match what was in the experience. 2 of the pieces (out of 6) were different. - The host of the experience that we had, was not the same in the experience description. - The experience was not interactive at all, unlike other Uncommon Goods experiences. - Although the beginning of the experience was very informative, it was extremely dry. - The chocolate itself was wonderful, however the tasting portion of the experience seemed rushed and took a backseat to the informative portion of the experience. I really don't like leaving negative reviews, but I would hate for others to spend good money on an experience that just isn't up to par.
Response from merchant
Thank you for providing your honest review of the class. We did have a substitute, a co-founder of the Chocolate brand used in class, step in to teach when the instructor was unavailable. As they are an aged chocolate creator, the type of chocolate they send can vary due to availability. We make every effort to update the list appropriately, but clearly we dropped the ball here! We would love to reschedule you for another date!

Unique Experience
Overall, my husband and I enjoyed this experience even though we did not have the right chocolates in our kit. Also, we thought the presenter, Carl, was interesting, but the presentation was too long and the actual tasting felt rushed. The chocolate was delicious, however, and was unlike anything we'd ever tasted before. Since the kit came with 18 mini-bars, we still have one of each and are looking forward to trying them with wine and cheese soon.

Cancelled class. Experience did not align with price.
The chocolate was delicious, however, we felt the experience was over priced. The host mentioned it being the most expensive chocolate in the world so that might explain the price for 1.9 ounces of chocolate. When we showed up for our class we were informed it was cancelled as there was no instructor available. Wow! Thought there might have been some notice before actual class time. They offered to reschedule, or watch a video. Very disappointed as time was taken off from work and baby sitting arranged for this class. The price did not align with the experience, and especially with NO notice of a cancelled class.

Thank you for your feedback. Our hosts are very dependable but an unexpected issue did prevent them from making this class. We're so sorry for how it impacted your evening. Many of our customers have reported how much they enjoyed the Experience, we're here to help if there is more we can do to make this right.

Really good experience with just a couple issues
My husband and I really loved the class. The chocolate was really amazing and the story behind it is remarkable. However, we did have some issues getting logged in (never received an email) and had to call customer support who were very helpful. Also, some people in the class didn't get the same chocolate as everyone else. One other note is that the class was fairly low energy - I think it might have been more fun if the instructor was more lively or engaged, though he did know a lot about chocolate!

Great Time Tasting World's Most Exclusive Chocolate
What a great experience. Surprised to learn that To'ak, the maker of the chocolate in the tasting, was once called the world's most expensive chocolate. We learned about the history and journey of Ecuadoran chocolate, which was extremely interesting. The chocolate itself??? Delicious!!!
