With Anu Menon and Suyog Mody’s at-home kit, you can learn how to taste and appraise coffee using the same method as master growers, roasters, and tasters.

Inside, you'll find five single-origin, expertly roasted coffees from around the world and a step-by-step guide to the professional cupping technique. This is a blind test, so you won’t have any info on the varieties you’re sampling—you’ll sip each one and make your own appraisal with help from the included flavor wheel. When you’re done, you’ll break the seal on the Do Not Open! envelope to see how close you came to each sample’s actual origin and profile. Even if it turns out that you don’t have the palate of a trained coffee connoisseur, you’ll still gain so much know-how that you’ll be able to identify the roasts and flavor notes that can lead you to your dream beans. Anu Menon and Suyog Mody started their company to create and do work they're passionate about. Their philosophy: "There is no satisfaction in making subpar products just to make money. After all, our creation is a reflection of us." Both of them have always loved great coffee. As their interest in it grew over the years, Anu and Suyog’s morning brew became less about caffeine and convenience and more about a ritual they relished. Now, they happily obsess over every detail of their coffee. Anu, by the way, likes her beans "balanced and bold", while Suyog likes his "fruity".

Fun to do!

This was a fun experience- I liked that you could choose how in depth you wanted to go with it. The only improvement I would suggest is to allow the buyer to select whether they want whole or ground beans at time of purchase. #sweepstakes

This is a blind test, so you won’t have any info on the varieties you’re sampling—you’ll sip each one and make your own appraisal with help from the included flavor wheel.

The maker states that coffee grounds are always best enjoyed at their freshest possible opportunity! Coffee doesn't go bad, but it does get stale, which causes it to lose any distinct flavor characteristics, and taste more and more ordinary. As long as you store the coffee in an airtight container, away from sunlight, coffee can retain flavor and nuance from 14 to 21 days from the roast date. In general, our coffee is fresh for up to 3 weeks after it is delivered. It is still delicious for a few more weeks after, but it does lose a bit of the depth of flavor that a fresh coffee has.
