The leap from mixing drinks to mastering them starts with fire in this live virtual class. Join Brooklyn bartender Matt Levy for an exploration of the smoky side of cocktail culture that blends history, technique, and hands-on practice as spirits take on deeper flavor and drama right before your eyes.

  • Live online experience led by mixologist Matt Levy, combining instruction, storytelling, and plenty of personality.
  • Participants learn how to use an electric cocktail smoker (see "Comes with the class," below) while exploring how smoking spirits has evolved over time.
  • You'll craft three cocktails in class: a Paper Plane, a Rome with a View, and a Smoked Martini.
  • Each recipe highlights a different wood chip, pairing pear, applewood, and oak with distinct flavor profiles.
  • Created as an update of our original smoked cocktail Experience, with all-new recipes and techniques.
Class length: 90 minutes

Great fun class!

This was a fun, informative class, hosted by a knowledgeable gent. It was a birthday gift from my kids, and my daughter joined me for the zoom class. We got to ask questions, comment, and generally just talk to the instructor. Learned alot, altho, afterwards, we thought an improvement may be to sample the drink before smoking, and then after smoking, to taste the difference. Sort of like food pairing at a wine tasting. Just a thought...the class was great just as it is.

I would highly recommend this as gift!
