Worry stones, believed to have originated in ancient Greece, are smooth, polished gemstones held between fingers and rubbed for relaxation and relief from anxiety. In times of grief and loss, these stones are a comforting tool, offering solace through their tactile presence and calming effect on emotions. Scott Staats melds cremated remains into colorful, pocket-sized memorials to serve as a daily remembrance of a lost loved one.

• You’ll receive an easy-to-use collection kit along with complete instructions for gathering a small amount of your loved one’s ashes and sending it to Scott’s studio.
• Scott heats glass in a furnace until it reaches a molten state, then adds a thin layer of the ashes, producing a brilliant white with a touch of bubbles encased in the glass. The material is returned to the furnace and sculpted into a worry-stone shape.
• Each stone measures approximately 1.75" in diameter; the handmade stones vary slightly in size and weight and feature a concave underside that enhances their comfort when held in the hand.
• Set of five stones lets you keep one close wherever you are or share with loved ones.
• Choose from three colors: Galaxy Blue, Sunset, and Meadow Green.

Shipping requirements for sending ashes safely
The U.S. Postal Service has strict requirements for mailing cremated remains (human or pet). As of 2025, all remains must be shipped in a special USPS cremated remains box, sealed with USPS tape. Other boxes or mailers are not permitted and may result in delays or returned shipments. This is a nationwide policy, and the options below will help to make the process simple and stress-free.

• You will receive a memorial collection kit and complete instructions on how to gather your ashes and send them to Scott’s studio to create your stones. You will not receive a USPS cremated remains box or tape.
• You will need to order the USPS cremated remains box directly from USPS—it’s free and comes with the USPS tape. Get it here. When you’re ready to send your ashes to Scott’s studio, Uncommon Goods will provide a free prepaid shipping label.

Cremation Memorial Remembrance Stones With Shipping Box ($220)

• Uncommon Goods will ship the USPS cremated remains box and tape in the same package as your memorial collection kit. You will not need to order it from USPS. When you’re ready to send your ashes to Scott’s studio, we will also provide a free prepaid shipping label.
• The additional $15 covers our cost to ship the flat USPS box and tape to you.
