Great Little Gift, Beat Up Packaging
This is a neat and unique little gift to give a graduated med student. I haven't tried them out but I'm super excited to gift them to my friend, they seem fitting for the long hours of residency! However, their little package came so beat up it looks like I am gifting them used :/. Not the look I like to present so that's a big bummer.

Bought these for my whole team
Every year I have to come up with some unique way to show appreciation for my team's efforts. Saw these and thought "I hope everyone likes them." Sure enough, they did. None of my team had ever seen this item before and they were all excited to go home and try it out. Next day one guy came to the office and said "I used 'em twice so far! Gets job done without freezing my fingers off
Orbit stones are awesome! Way better than trying to hold an ice cube or bag of ice over eyelids. I did have to keep finger on one side because I couldn't get them centered right so one side would fall off. Still better than ice cubes tho!

The stones are actually from Finland, one of the quarry capitals of the world. The bedrock used for these therapeutic marvels is soapstone, which comes from the Finnish schist zone and is an ages old metamorphic rock. It is rich in magnesium and talc, which is why it is soft enough to shape, and Finnish soapstone is known for its heat retention properties - about 2.5 times as much energy as “traditional," porous stones!

This amazing item may also be quite useful for remedying migraine headaches (even though it has not been tested or approved for this purpose). Can these stones be used both warm and cold? For example, when sinus pressure builds up, can one warm them up for relief around the eyes? Or will that cause them to crack in some way?

You should never heat up anything and put it on your eyes! Everything about the stone treatments and eyes has to do with cooling. You can also apply cool veggies like cucumbers but you should never heat up anything and place them over your eyes.
