After working as a designer and builder of theatrical sets, Jeff Davis enrolled at the Rhode Island School of Design to earn a master’s degree in industrial design. Tapping into a cultural shift toward sustainability, the Massachusetts native decided to upcycle an old vinyl LP into a bowl—and got rave reviews. Now Jeff puts his ingenuity to work designing housewares and gifts made from out-of-commission vintage records, all brought to life by a small team of fabricators in his Philadelphia workshop.

Perfect, unique gift!
My friend (who is a musician) just moved into a new home and I gave him these coasters as part of a housewarming gift. He thought they were incredibly cool, completely unique, and immediately put them out on display. Loved the array of colors and blend of whimsy and functionality!

Low quality for the price
Seems cheaply made for the price. The laminated record labels are full of air bubbles which do not look good. I received two black labels which make the air bubbles really stand out.

Description made it sound like there would be at least some Rock and roll coasters. When I got them, there were none, just opera and play tunes.

Unique Gift
I bought this for my son who has a large vinyl collection. It wasn't packaged well and the box got damaged. It is hard to gift something in a damaged box. They are a fun gift for a music lover!

What is used to seal the record coaster so moisture doesn't penetrate? How is the sealer applied to the record? How long will the sealer last? Thank you.

A clear permanent mylar laminate is applied over both record labels (front and back). It will last for 10+ years.

The coasters are made of labels cut from the center of real vinyl records! We don't know what albums are on the coasters as they will all be different because the records are recycled.

I ordered 4 sets of your coasters. Unfortunately the plastic containers of each set are broken. I can send a picture of what they look like. The box arrived in one piece, without any damage, so I am not sure why each of the outer plastic containers were broken. Is there anyway to get replacements?

Hello, I see that you note they are sealed to avoid leakage. It isn't apparent in the photos whether or not the hole in the center is sealed. Does a clear cover that I cannot see in the image lay over the record hole in the center to prevent liquid from reaching the table surface?
