What Makes It Uncommon

Emily Rosenfeld encourages us to live fully and intentionally with her meditative piece that’s inspired by Tibetan prayer wheels, or manis. Reminiscent of the ancient Buddhist prayer instruments, they're used to deepen mindfulness practices and help people stay in the moment during meditation.

  • Each pendant is made from pewter with spinnable beads with the phrase "The Moment is Now, Live Life Fully and with Joy" written across them. Throughout the day, move the beads to come back to an intention or simply to stay present.
  • Includes a 30" plated brass chain.
  • Handmade in Massachusetts.

After graduating college with a degree in English, Emily Rosenfeld started working for production jewelers Lewis and Hubener, where she stayed for two years. Working with jewelry made her realize that she wanted to earn her living with her hands and with her eye, and she moved to Oakland, California, started studying in workshops and began to make her own jewelry in 1991.

For two years, she ran her business out of a Murphy bed closet, then moved to New Paltz, New York before finally settling in Western Massachusetts. Her studio there is a converted factory building filled with other artists, where she feels continually inspired to develop new designs and play with new materials and techniques. She says of her jewelry, "Making my work makes me very happy; I hope owning it brings a measure of joy as well."
