A simple discovery propelled Morgan Tanner to leave behind her career as a costume designer and launch a line of jewelry instead. One afternoon, sifting through her husband Josh’s computer, she stumbled upon a handful of photographs he’d taken of Hawaiian sights. “These are the images I should be using,” said Morgan, who’d been working vintage pictures into her earliest experiments with photo jewelry. “These mean something.” Soon enough, she found herself in Maui, where a peaceful escape into nature pushed her to pursue full-time jewelry-making. Although her first pieces leveraged her husband’s photographs of Oahu (swoon), she now creates custom work from customers’ images, hoping to bring blissful moments to busy lives through meaningful, wearable art.
