Shelly Klein lives and works in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design. She earned a BFA with an emphasis in painting, and has since divided her time between painting and designing for her product line. The two disciplines often overlap: Shelly’s painted illustrations are used to decorate her product designs. Working with Uncommon Goods has helped Shelly produce pieces beyond the manufacturing capabilities of her own studio—and it allows her to connect with a large audience of art lovers from around the world.

Very cute!
I got the personalized glass for my father-in-law this Christmas and the end product looks very cute! The process was super easy where you receive a 'mock up' design from uncommon goods and you can either revise or approve it. I did revise mine once because I wanted to add additional items to it, and the service team was extremely efficient and sent me the revised mock up on the same day. Overall I think this would be the perfect gift for a baseball fan who likes to drink liquids out of a glass (because not everyone does!). My only thing to note for this item is that you can see the design was printed on the glass pretty clearly and you can see tiny bits of imperfections here and there, so I would be nervous to put it in a dishwasher even though it's dishwasher safe. Nevertheless, I think this gift is great and I'm excited to see how people react to it at Christmas!
