In 1991, Graham Bergh was riding his bike to his recycling job when he got a flat. Being a savvy recycler, he took the inner tube and made a cradle for his stereo speakers. Three years later, he started his own company focusing on reviving and refashioning spent bike gear.
Every year, Graham and his team of bicycle craftspeople collect thousands of pounds of used parts, drawing from bike shops nationwide. The pieces that still have life in them are donated to a local non-profit group that teaches bicycle repair to children, and the ones that are beyond repair are made into edgy home accents and accessories.

Great use and conversation starter
Nowdays the recycling is "the thing" and this is just a perfect example of using parts that we never thought we could put them into something creative. Anybody needs a coasters and those are recycled with durable edges, promote outdoor life and recycling and start a conversation of all of the above. Each coasters has a different bike. Great topic conversation with kids!

I understand there is a cork bottom on these cute coasters. I'm wondering if the chain rim touches the surface the coaster is placed on? I'm concerned about the chain scratching coffee tables, etc. Does the cork bottom elevate the coaster to avoid the chain scratching any surface the coaster would be placed on?

The cork does not elevate the coaster, however it is designed to prevent scratching.
