When cofounders Keith Eshelman and Sevag Kazanci worked on a volunteer project in the Santa Monica Mountains, they learned that environmental damage and lack of funding had brought our parklands to the brink of crisis. They founded Parks Project in 2014 as a way to help by sharing the profits of apparel sales with parks. That first year, operating out of garages, cars, and coffee shops, they contributed $1,209. The following year, they officially partnered with national parks. The company became a B Corp in 2023, having by then given back over $2,500,000. "Becoming a certified B Corp is a synthesis of our overall mission to 'Leave it better than we found it' and prove to our partners that we walk the talk," they said. "We continually work to improve our supply chain and reduce our footprint." They're most proud of the fact that each year, one-third of Parks Project?s profits go back to helping protect and preserve our parkland.
