With a degree in design and ceramic arts, Derek began making handmade items from his home studio outside of Barrie, Ontario. After many years working with clay Derek transitioned to welded steel which opened up a bigger market and created greater latitude to pursue works which could be used and enjoyed outdoors year-round.

Perfect gift for bird lovers
This was a perfect gift for my parents, who want "less stuff," but enjoy feeding the birds in their backyard. It was a unique feeder from their current selection, and they loved it. For those reviews complaining about the rust - they must have missed the description. This is an environmentally conscious gift with a natural finish. The rust is intended and in no way takes away from the beauty of the product.

Great gift
I got this for my mom for Christmas so I cant relay her reaction yet but I'm pretty confident she's going to love it. It seems really solid and sturdy and will be easy to hang when the time comes. I'm really happy with this purchase.

Easy to use
Easy to hang from standard pole - easy to attach fruit. Great for the backyard bird enthusiasts who has *almost* everything. Don't know if I'll get any bird takers, but it will take a year before I find out when it's best to put out. I like the look of it and the silhouettes are so realistic I keep thinking there's birds on it :-) (The buyers who found it unattractive didnt read the description.)

Negative Stars
This product arrived so rusty that the packing paper was orange. Upon removing the product from the packaging my hands also became instantly rusty. The poor quality of this product makes it unacceptable to give as a gift. Customer service has also failed to respond to my multiple inquiries about the poor quality of the product.
