First, she embeds a 1-carat unprocessed gray diamond in solid 14-karat yellow gold. Then she surrounds it with a halo of a dozen 1-point round brilliant diamonds and finishes the piece with her signature textured gold band. The union of refined artistry with rough-hewn splendor makes this an heirloom-worthy piece to treasure for generations. Handmade in New York.

“A goal is just a dream with a deadline.”

There was never a moment that Emilie Shapiro didn't consider herself an artist. "Before I could speak," she says, "I expressed myself through what I made with my hands." While getting her degree in metalsmithing at Syracuse University, she spent a summer at Alchimia Contemporary Jewelry School in Florence, Italy. "I have a massive stone collection that I started when I was two," and to spark inspiration, she says, "I usually pull out my drawers of gems and minerals and something catches my eye."
