After studying multimedia art at California State University, Honey Tso went on to work with fabric, paper, leather, wire, and wood. But after she tried her hand at clay, she says, she knew "everything else would take a back seat." The Hong Kong–born artist, who has lived in California since she was 5 years old, now handcrafts ceramics in her studio near San Francisco, and plans to be a potter for the rest of her life. "There isn't enough time to create in clay all the ideas coming into my head."

COOLEST potting plant decoration
Love this for the decor factor. Not sure it is bringing the butterflies, but I think the bees like it! (Thinking the yellow paint attracts them?) it is a real pretty addition to my plant here. (What plant?) IDK, I enjoy all the whimsical stuff so much and I think the lil peoples who run around my yard ate the flowers.

How do you order extra sand feed?

Not to worry! You can add salt and water to sand you have! The butterflies are attracted to the crystal mixture left behind. To attract butterflies to your garden, place in a sunny, protected place. You can even place overripe fruit!

Any sand will do! Fill the well with sand, mix in a pinch of salt, and pour water over it until a puddle forms on the surface. As the water evaporates, it leaves behind valuable salts and minerals that butterflies need. Once butterflies know where to find these minerals, they'll return regularly. Placing pieces of overripe fruit on the stone is another way to attract butterflies.

Where would I get replacement sand once a his is used up? Does this just sit on the ground?

It does sit on the ground, or a table if you prefer! Any sand can be used, as long as it's mixed with salt and soil. Everything but the salt can be purchased at your local nursery or garden center!
