Care
To attract butterflies to your garden, place the butterfly puddler in a sunny, protected place. Fill the well with sand, and then cover with water. Butterflies crave the minerals & salts left behind as the water evaporates. Refill with water when needed. You can also place overripe fruit on the puddler, or add a pinch of salt to the water to attract the butterflies.

Hello! It is made from stoneware clay which is very weather resistant! It's also made in Canada - so we know cold! Yes, the puddler can be left out year round in a multitude of climates. It's very durable!

How much sand or Rock Salt per teaspoon of water?

Thank you for your question. Just a small amount of sand or salt is enough along with a teaspoon of water. The well isn't very large so a lot is not needed. Hope this answers your question!
