Vietnamese imagery, manga, and classic children's illustration are some of the inspirations for Trung Le Nguyen's work. Born in the Philippines, the artist also known as Trungles has lived in the United States since he was 2 years old. His art explores themes from his own life: stories of diaspora, growing up gay, and a love for mythology and fairy tales. His debut graphic novel,The Magic Fish, was published in 2020. Trung lives in Minneapolis with a trio of "very spoiled hens."
