Jacek Kalich and Weronika Kalich use time-honored pottery techniques and processes to craft each bovine cutie, first molding and firing the clay, then hand-painting the colorful floral details with brushes and hand-cut sponges. Each piece takes at least 12 days to create and will add a dash of old-world charm to your morning coffee or afternoon tea.

Husband and wife Jacek and Weronika Kalich hail from Boleslawiec, Poland, the epicenter of Polish pottery making and a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage status. Jacek started the business in his garage with three artists but now employs 30. The process involves a sculptor creating a mold, hand-pouring clay, drying, smoothing, the first firing, cleaning, painting, glazing, a second firing, and packing. Each artisan meticulously handles a specific step before the pottery is shipped to America.
