Patricia Carlin believes that a small sketch has the power to tell a story without language. She started out as an art director in Philadelphia, selling everything from potato chips to financial products. In 2001, a friend wanted help launching a glassware business, so Patricia designed and wrote copy for several products for the new venture. Patricia has explored many techniques in her illustration, but simple line drawing appeals to her most. "For me, paring things down to their simplest essence is always the best way to understand them," she says.

Another Uncommon hit!
The Movie Marquee was the perfect gift for our already tightly furnished apartment. My husband loves old movies, and but for Casablanca, his favorite, I don't watch with him. This gift really expressed how I love him just the way he is!

High quality print!
Picture quality is excellent, but the dimensions are a little bit off, so if you're going to frame it yourself, be prepared to cut it to size by half an inch or so.

What is this made of - just printed on a piece of paper, glass, etc?

You can select either a framed or unframed version and the print is on Epson enhanced matte paper. The framed version measures 17" H x 21" W and the unframed is 16" H x 20" W.

On the description of Personalized Movie Marquee Photo Print, it says up to 40 characters, but when you go to customize it, it only allows 35. Are you able to do 40 characters?

Hi Elizabeth! We checked with the maker and we apologize - that PDF is outdated and we have adjusted the website. The current version of this product indeed has a 35 character limit for custom text.

Is the "Starring " and "playing since" automatically printed on the picture or do I have to include it on my own when entering the names?

Yes! "Staring" and "Playing since" are automatically added to the personalization, you do not have to add it to the name fields!

How can I use a nickname on the title but real name for the "starring" part?

Unfortunately, nicknames cannot be accommodated. Only first names will be displayed for the title and the full names will be displayed in the "starring" section.

Not being able to use both nick names and full names ruins the whole concept, unfortunately. It is not useable.
