Musical spoons have been played traditionally for centuries, and have become embedded in French Canadian culture over time—you'll hear them in folk music, they're brought out at parties or during festivals, and are often given as gifts. Quebec City local Richard Cyr has been handcrafting them since 1997 using only the finest Canadian maple, hoping to spread their ear-pleasing tones and the carefree fun that comes along with them all over the world. Richard Cyr and Mathieu Venière-Cyr are a father-and-son duo based in Québec City, where they handcraft traditional musical spoons from Canadian maple wood. Richard, a self-taught woodworker, started the business in 1997 after a career as an environmental technician. Mathieu joined later, bringing marketing expertise and a shared passion for folk music and Québécois heritage. Inspired by nostalgia and community, they?ve built a joyful craft rooted in tradition, and have partnered with hundreds of retailers worldwide, growing from humble beginnings to a team of 10 in two workshops that are "full of character and built with love."

Great gift!

I am not musical at all but bought this for a very musically gifted friend and she loved everything about it. She said it was very high quality and was something she had never seen before so was very excited to try it out. It came nicely packaged as well which I always appreciate when I'm buying something as a gift….which I typically am on this site!

I am purchasing 2 Magical Spoon gifts for my two sons for Father's Day. They are both musical and play instruments and they each have children who play instruments and will want to learn along with their dads. Can I purchase two spoons in each gift?
