What Makes Lucky Marble Earrings Uncommon

Marbles have always held a special place in the lives of Rachel Pfeffer and her family, and she wants to share that wonder with everyone who wears a pair of her retro-tinged earrings. Symbols of good luck and nostalgia, they recall the innocence and joy of childhood games. "My mom loves marbles, and would often tell stories of carefree Bronx summers playing them in her youth," Rachel says. Each pair carries a bit of that memory—playful, personal, and full of heart.

"I grew up in my family's jewelry store in Western Massachusetts and I had no desire to be a jeweler whatsoever," says Rachel Pfeffer. But once she started designing in her spare time, she couldn't stop. Now she loves to lose herself in the process. "I like to call myself a freestyle jeweler because usually I don't know what I'm going to make when I sit down at the workbench," she says. False starts make it all the more fun: "When I finish something that's perfect, it's like a rush of adrenaline."
