What Makes Beachy Blue Earrings Uncommon

Tropical Drops

Susan Rodgers' beautiful chalcedony earrings bring splashes of sunlit, tropical ocean with you everywhere. The aqua drops, skillfully hung from hand-coiled, recycled sterling silver "branches," are faceted to create subtly sparkling beams as they move in the light. We think Mother Nature, the supreme artist, gave Susan an A+ on this pair inspired by Her. French wires. Handmade in New York.

Though she comes from a long line of artisans, self-taught silversmith Susan Rodgers' road to a creative career took a few detours—like a life-threatening car accident and a 20-year corporate career. Once she realized that she "needed to pursue an artistic life," Susan worked in several mediums before discovering The One: jewelry-making. Summers spent on Fire Island with her family fostered a love of nature that inspire the designs she creates on the North Shore of Long Island.
