Meghan Miller was born and raised in Maine, then moved to France to earn a master's degree. Upon her return, she fell back into her old pastime (and favorite form of therapy): making art. After gaining popularity at summer art shows, she decided to make the jump into being a full-time creator. Her media? Wood, epoxy, and sand collected from the Maine coastline. In her studio, she and her two assistants craft her housewares, games, and wall art designed with gorgeously realistic seascapes.

Hand wash only - wash with warm water and soap. Dry well. Oil board with a food safe oil such as mineral oil as often as desired or as wood begins to look dull.

Beautiful Serving Board

Board is a gift
This board was purchased as an anniversary gift. It is beautiful and I know the couple will love it since they live in Florida. I gave it 4 stars because it is considerably smaller than expected to be. Actual dimendions and pictures showing it in use would be helpful. I also expected the halyards to be silver in color but they are painted white. Nevertheless, it is beautifully made.

This will be a good gift
Maybe it's in the description and I missed it, but the handles are plastic. Does a nautically-themed cutting board require authentic, shipworthy pieces? Nope... Is the epoxy design cool? Yes (but they picked a prettier one for the product page). Will the sailor who's getting this clever design love it? I think so. Make sure to treat the wood with food grade mineral oil, and tell the recipient to do this as well... It helps keep the raw wood in good condition after contact with food. The customized engraving option is fabulous and worth the expense, IMO.

Not happy with the quality
The serving board is small for the price. The corners were kind of sloppily done and the handles are loose. I am unable to tighten them either. Overall, I'm not very happy with the item and probably would not recommend.

Great Product
I bought this for my fiancé who loves the beach but we live in landlocked Missouri. The first order was still by porch pirates but I didn't engrave that one. I took the opportunity to engrave the second order and it's Amazing. The wood is smooth, the engraving is so special and the epoxy is so beautiful. It's really a work of art and shows movement in the design. The handles are a nice addition. I love it and so does my fiancé.

Pretty, but I wouldn't by it again
The design was so pretty! The item was much smaller than what is pictured, though that was partly on me. It was smaller than the measurements. It was 5 inches wide instead of 6 inches wide. You can definitely find a better product for cheaper somewhere else.

The description says the board has "optional cleats". Elsewhere you state that the design is only applied to one end when cleats will be added, but along the length when cleats will not be added. How do I order it without the cleats?

Is that a blue liquid swishing around under a clear resin? Or is the shoreline design all a solid resin and thus the design doesn't change with movement?

Thanks for your questions! Maple wood is used to craft the board. With handles, the board measures 15" L x 6" W x 0.75" H. Without handles it's 16" L x 5.5" W x 0.75" H.

Is the wood that's not covered by resin sealed? Just received a board i ordered and it appears sanded but not sealed.

Like most cutting boards, you can oil the non-resin sealed area of the board with a food safe oil such as mineral oil as often as desired or as wood begins to look dull.

There are two images that are different... is the resin applied to both sides for two different effects?

Hi there! These are one-sided; the images above reflect two different options. The board with the cleats (handles) has the effect on one end of the board. Without the cleats has the decoration all along one side.
