What Makes It Uncommon

Meghan Miller wants you to share snacks, cheer, and coastal vibes with all your party guests—that’s why she created her unique claw-shaped serving boards. Handcrafted of beautiful cherrywood and finished with a red string for display or hanging, each piece is inspired by her life in Maine (and a lobster’s crusher claw*). Break it out for beachside picnics, nights around the bonfire, or whenever you’re in the mood for a platter of munchies.

Uncommon Knowledge: A lobster’s claws are asymmetrical—the larger one (crusher claw)—is used for breaking hard shells while the more slender one (pincer claw) is used for grabbing and tearing softer food.

Meghan Miller was born and raised in Maine, then moved to France to earn a master's degree. Upon her return, she fell back into her old pastime (and favorite form of therapy): making art. After gaining popularity at summer art shows, she decided to make the jump into being a full-time creator. Her media? Wood, epoxy, and sand collected from the Maine coastline. In her studio, she and her two assistants craft her housewares, games, and wall art designed with gorgeously realistic seascapes.
