“When you relinquish the tools you take for granted ... you have to stretch and find new tools to suit the new situation. Sometimes it's scary, sometimes it's awkward, often it's funny, nearly always it's a great investment.”
While studying fashion at New York's Parsons School of Design, Jill Davis became curious about other art forms, and the first time she saw molten glass, her search was over. "Glass is the most challenging and rewarding material," she explains. "You can't bully it - you are perpetually persuading the glass into shape. Even master glassblowers cannot always get the glass to do what they want. It's this feisty streak that keeps me enchanted." Jill's solar-powered studio is based in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

Lovely glasswork
Our October birthday girls (now 65) loved their early present. Both commented on how pretty the glass globe is and were looking forward to seeing it filled with the daily or weekly wishes. Thank you for including the paper message paper to fill it with. Very nice workmanship and will look good anywhere they decide to display it.

Perfect Birthday Gift
This got such a great response. Wishing someone a happy new year on their birthday and then giving them this beautiful gift where they can celebrate their next trip around the sun but writing wishes, goals or intentions and placing them in this beautiful globe has been a great gift I will remember again in the future.

Is it possible to have these made with a larger opening so that you can remove the notes? I wanted to use this for bridal or baby shower wishes? Guests would write notes on the papers and the couple/parents would have a keepsake to read later.

Thank you for your detailed questions. The included strips of paper are 1" W x 3" L, although they do have printing on the back, that state 'Thanks' and 'Wishes'.
