There was never a moment that Emilie Shapiro didn't consider herself an artist. "Before I could speak," she says, "I expressed myself through what I made with my hands." While getting her degree in metalsmithing at Syracuse University, she spent a summer at Alchimia Contemporary Jewelry School in Florence, Italy. "I have a massive stone collection that I started when I was two," and to spark inspiration, she says, "I usually pull out my drawers of gems and minerals and something catches my eye."

Very nice piece
This is a very pretty pendant. It was a gift and I like it very much, but I will be looking to replace the chain of the necklace as it looks cheap compared to the pendant. Not the best value as it is quite expensive to need a new chain. But the pendant itself is unique and versatile.
