What Makes It Uncommon

Mezcal is not meant to be downed in one shot. To fully enjoy the unique spirit, one should sip it slowly from a copita, a traditional vessel designed to enhance mezcal's sensory experience. Sarah Welch's set of four hand-thrown ceramic copitas brings warmth, texture, and intention to the art of drinking mezcal. Each petite, jade-green cup is stamped with its own unique sun—4 radiant designs that turn every pour into a celebration of craft. The optional matching tray (sold as a set) adds both form and function, with a hand-pressed pattern that mirrors the detail inside the cups and makes it easy to serve a flight of mezcal, tequila, or anything else worth sipping slowly.

Sarah Welch was first introduced to ceramics through a year long apprenticeship with a traditional master potter in Vienna, Austria. After studying art in Austria and California, she earned a BFA in ceramics/sculpture. Since graduating she has shown her sculptural and functional work both nationally and internationally. Sarah enjoys making pottery, where she finds the fusing of beauty with function an inspiring challenge. The long tradition of pottery and its intimate place in daily life inform the artistic choices she makes.

Beautiful and unique

We received the set as a gift and we loved it the very moment we opened it! Beautiful color, high quality. Each copita is a piece of art, love the sun in a different setting in each copita. We enjoy our mezcal and it looks beautiful! Our set included the tray.. definitely recommend to get the full set. It's both decorative and very easy to wash.
