Potter Kerry Brooks was heading towards a PhD in American Cultures from the University of Michigan before she decided to move to Ann Arbor and train in ceramics instead, from 1988 to 1992. The next year, she moved to Minneapolis, and co-founded a four-person pottery collective the year after that. The other three potters eventually moved on, so she's run the business herself for the last 15 years. As an employer (currently of 45 people) and gallery host, she has influenced the next generation of Minnesota clay artists, and many of her employees are artists in their own right. Pottery remains Kerry's passion, but she loves to travel and sing when she's not running her business, doing philanthropic work, or raising her daughter.

Who doesn't LOVE a spoon rest? :)
Beautiful agate. Vibrant color. I love it! bought this as a gift, but to our family. We are moving from Maryland to Oklahoma to be near family and I wanted something special this Christmas to commemorate the move. I use spoon rests & really like how they can decorate your kitchen, so this seemed perfect. So well made & professional looking- not like a souvenir. As soon as we are in our new home it will be on our stove. I also like stones & the agate is beautiful. I chose the teal green. It's a special treat for you or fun gift for your loved ones. Everybody should have at least one of these!
Catalog shopping can be risky but be assured anything you buy here will be of the highest quality. This is my go-to place for buying unique gifts. I finally decided to get something for myself! I have lived and loved visiting many states but I opted for Ohio, where I was born. The size is perfect for my small apartment sized stove top. Also can be used to place your tea bag. I recommend 10/10!

Sophisticated and Beautiful Gift

A Beautiful Masterpiece
I got much more than I expected. Each state (I got two) has such lovely detail and with really rich color. They are sturdy and have a good weight to them. I don't even dare use them as a spoon rest, I have them displayed of the two beautiful states that I call home. They are wonderful additions, whether you use them decoratively (like me) or functionally!

Great hostess or graduation gift!
This spoon rest lets you highlight the state they live in or went to school in and is very high quality. It's the perfect counter size, just right for a large spoon but not overwhelming on the counter. I got one for a college grad who is staying in her 'new' state to memorialize her home state.

Is the surface of of the spoon rest flat or contour (so it could actually catch the drips)?

Each of these spoon rests has a curve to it to catch drips! The exact shape varies a little from state to state, and also due the nature of each of these being a little different from each other, as they are handcrafted.
