Potter Kerry Brooks was heading towards a PhD in American Cultures from the University of Michigan before she decided to move to Ann Arbor and train in ceramics instead, from 1988 to 1992. The next year, she moved to Minneapolis, and co-founded a four-person pottery collective the year after that. The other three potters eventually moved on, so she's run the business herself for the last 15 years. As an employer (currently of 45 people) and gallery host, she has influenced the next generation of Minnesota clay artists, and many of her employees are artists in their own right. Pottery remains Kerry's passion, but she loves to travel and sing when she's not running her business, doing philanthropic work, or raising her daughter.

Great hostess or graduation gift!
This spoon rest lets you highlight the state they live in or went to school in and is very high quality. It's the perfect counter size, just right for a large spoon but not overwhelming on the counter. I got one for a college grad who is staying in her 'new' state to memorialize her home state.

Great gift for an "ex-pat"

My Daughter Loves Her Gift!
This gift is built around a magnet my daughter gave me in 2023: "So much of who we are is where we've been". Given that her lifetime has been spent in CA and AZ, I purchased the spoon holders (plus one of your aprons) for her. She was ecstatic when she opened the box, read my note, and saw the beautiful spoon holders. This was a truly special moment for her (and me) and thank you for making that possible.

My second spoon!
My friend gifted us the CALIFORNIA State spoon when we moved from CA. 8 years later, I accidentally broke it and promptly replaced it. I love ceramics and the spoon is very well made and great color. I keep it by our coffee station.

Is the surface of of the spoon rest flat or contour (so it could actually catch the drips)?

Each of these spoon rests has a curve to it to catch drips! The exact shape varies a little from state to state, and also due the nature of each of these being a little different from each other, as they are handcrafted.
