Photographer, graphic designer, self-taught glass artist?and Novia Scotia native?Rachelle Paul fell in love with glass working while making geometric glass terrariums for her wedding. "There is something so satisfying about putting these simple shapes together to form beautiful sculptures," she says. Rachelle gathers clear glass from old windows and greenhouses near her studio. "There are so many different methods to glass working," she says?which inspires her to keep exploring her craft.

stained glass, patina, copper foil, lead solder, metal chain

Measurements

6" L x 3.75" W x 0.25" H

Care

Clean by wiping down with microfiber cloth. Do not use chemicals to clean as this may affect the solder lines. To shine the solder lines – use carnuba wax or a finishing compound for glass. Use a small amount of the wax on a microfiber cloth. Rub on and let dry, then buff off with microfiber towel (not the same area that was used to apply the wax). If hanging in the window with a suction cup – ensure the cup is securely suctioned. Item is made with lead solder. Wash hands after handling.

Not What I Expected

This is completely flat! Photo appears to be 3D. I got the amethyst and it is well made but the colors are really dull. Not happy. 😞

Kooky elegant sis asked for office decor...

Possibly to my own detriment I did not read the prop 65 warning and upon reading the included literature with the product I realized these do contain lead. But that's my own bad; I also do not know the type of lead or if there is a better joining material. That being said, Both the onyx and opal are gorgeous and will discretely catch the eye of observant visitors, without distracting from the overall theme.

Please note that this is flat

I should have paid more attention before ordering and read the dimensions, but the picture makes it look like this is a 3-dimensional sun catcher but actually it is flat. In person, it doesn't look 3 dimensional (although it is shaped to look that way). It's a nice ornament if you don't mind it being flat. (I returned it.)
