Sprouted and Died
This is the second plant I received that did not grow. The first was lavender, never grew. The second is the sunflower. Bought as a gift. One seed sprouted and died. Never grew taller than an inch. In both cases, ALL directions were followed.

Never Bloomed
It sprouted and started growing beautifully, but then fizzled out. I bought it as a gift, very disappointed.

Sizable and quick to sprout
This pot is solid and a pretty decent size for an indoor plant. My friend potted it about a week ago and already has 4 or 5 seedlings about 3 inches tall. I'm looking forward to watching them grow!

Hi, I just set up the planter yesterday. As per instructions, I put 2.5 cups water and coco in net pot and placed seeds. But the water hasn't dampened the coco yet. It's only damp at the end where it's immersed in water but not up to the top. It's been 24 hours... Should I pour water from above? If yes, then how much
Verified reply from Michael
Hi there! touch the surface of the coco daily, and if it’s not slightly damp, spray with a little water. Don’t oversaturate.

Hi— is this supposed to come with two packets of seeds? We only received one. Thank you!
Verified reply from Michelle
Hi! This kit comes with one packet of seeds.

I followed the instructions for the sunflower grow kit and what I'm left with are the seeds in water sitting above the coconut grass. The seeds are supposed to be pushed under the carbon, but there isn't a way to push the seeds down far enough. Should I plant the seeds below the carbon by taking out the stainless planter and putting it back over the. Carbon?
Verified reply from Allison
Hello! Half of the seeds should be pushed about ½" below the surface of the coco after adding the carbon. So first pour the coco in the pot then the carbon, then add to the pot and then 1/2 the seeds. After the water soaks upward, if the seeds become visible, push them gently down 1/2 in. Although this is not the same item, the Herb Kit follows the same steps toward the end. https://modsprout.com/setup-videos/. Let us know if you think you've received a kit with a faulty set up!

Hello! New plant mom here. I purchased this product and have loved taking care of my new sprouts! I am so excited to have 3 sprouts. My question is - when do I replant? How will I know it is the right time?
Verified reply from Leslie
Hello! They normally grow 6-14’’ and do not need to be repotted but can be if you like.

If I give this as a gift and it doesn't flower...is there any guarantee and replacement program? Also, will sunflowers continue to grow for several years and all year long as long as there is sun?
Verified reply from Leslie
Hello! We have a Forever Return Policy; if at any point your aren't satisfied we're happy to send out a prepaid label to return the product for a refund. The seeds included in this kit are dwarf sunflower seeds. These are annual, meaning they die after blooming, versus a perennial which will come back every year from the same plant.

What is the upkeep? Do you need to continue to add plant food to the water? If so, where can additional food be found?
Verified reply from Lelio
You will want to add 1/8 tsp of plant food into 2 cups of water. This process will be repeated every 2 weeks or so. The owners have plant nutrients on their site, and standard plant food also works. See the plant food here: https://store.modsprout.com/products/plant-nutrients

What is the shelf life? Can I wait until spring to plant if it is a Christmas present?
Verified reply from Leslie
Hi there. There is no expiration date, you should be fine to wait until spring!

Is this something that can be grown fully indoors? Or does this have to be planted outdoors after initial growing?
Verified reply from Leslie
Hello! Per the artist: "Indoor Garden Kits are designed for indoor use, but can be put outside. Be mindful that the planter does not have a drain hole, and if the reservoir floods it may drown the roots. Bring your Garden Kit inside if temps dip below freezing."

Does the growing process require a fair amount of direct sunlight?
Verified reply from Leslie
They do! All sunflowers thrive in direct sunlight; anywhere from 6-8 hours a day.
