From the photo Iexpected a more refined version of this, possibly even with a lining, but it wasn't comfortable to handle with all its rawness sticking out.

Beautiful AND useful
I have, so far, either recommended this gift to a friend or purchased two (one for my sister, another for a friend). I plan to purchase a third as a birthday gift for another best friend from Dallas, TX. She will be as delighted as the others are!

Not Quite As Expected
I ordered this as a gift for a friend, feeling pretty confident with all the 5 star reviews. The bag I received was very similar in color to the product image, although a little more drab, but I expected differences in a handmade item. The design is beautiful, and the bag is roomy. However, some of the seams in the bag I received weren't carefully sewn so there were holes where the upper was not well attached to the base. And I was shocked and disappointed at how heavy and scratchy the material was. I realize now the product description doesn't specify materials other than the saris, but it is a heavy, thick, rope-like jute. Might be fine for another season, but I couldn't imagine carrying this with bare arms in summer -mine were scratched just trying it on. If those things don't bother you, it is a wonderful idea, I just didn't feel it was well-executed and had to return it.

Fabulous gift for your beach bound friend!
This bag was an absolutely beautiful birthday gift for one of my best friends. It's a great size for anyone on the go, whether it's to the farmer's market or the beach! The quality is insanely great and the colors are so vibrant. I would highly recommend it!

Perf Beach/Farmers Market Bag
I bought this as a gift for my friend's birthday and she loves it! The colors of the bag that I received had more purple in it, so it was different than as pictured but I understand that the colors vary. Very very beautiful and has really good structure to it that I also wasn't expecting - this is not a flimsy bag. Perfect for farmers market runs or taking to the beach!

I would buy this time again and again
This versitle and beautifully hand made carry-all bag is phenominal. It can be used for every day things as well as a small overnight bag. Shopping, beach, lake, overnight, anything you want. It is beautifally well made. Everyone should buy one.

Colors are not the same
Would not buy again. I bought this expecting to get the same colors in the pic but they were totally different. The bag also shed lots and strands and pieces were loose all over. The structure and size was nice but bag was not the same quality as what was pictured.

Thank you for your question! These bags are made out of upcycled textiles and sustainable jute fibers. Jute feels similar to burlap. When woven together, the bags are softer than if the bag was jute alone. Jute is known for its durability, making this bag ideal for various purposes!
