Originating from Eastern Massachusetts, Madeline Shir honed her skills in glass art at the Rochester Institute of Technology before settling in Western Massachusetts with her husband and fellow glass artist, Ori. Madeline prefers this medium because she can sculpt in a way that is more fluid in her mind and body than she can with other materials. "Glass allows me to melt, stretch, sculpt, and play with fire and goo," she explains, "and within seconds, shift a form into something new."

This is such an incredible message
I absolutely loved giving this necklace as a gift. It is not very large and the amount of honey in the necklace is tiny, but it represents the full amount of a honeybee's life work. Without honeybees, our entire ecosystem would collapse, but what they accomplish in their lifetime as far as making, honey seems so minuscule. I loved giving this to a friend who felt as though the meaning in her life (and her job) was slightly lacking. One of the things that I really enjoyed about this necklace was that as the pendant sits against your skin, the honey melts and moves around. It changes the look of the necklace throughout the day. I would definitely purchase this again.
