Australian-born author and mountain lover Greg Child once said, "Somewhere between the bottom of the climb and the summit is the answer to the mystery why we climb." Celebrate a personal best or the scaling of a new rock formation with a handmade can insulator designed for outdoor adventurers. Maker Amber McDaniel (an avid climber herself) repurposes rope sourced from her local climbing community to make every handled creation. Thoroughly cleaned before assembly, each rope may still possess the evidence of epic ascensions in fading or discoloration, which only adds to the cooler's authenticity and cliff-conquering charm. Made in Wyoming.

f it's used and trash-bound, Amber McDaniel sees it as treasure in the making. The born-and-raised Montanan considers herself an intense hobby enthusiast rather than an artist. She and her partner, Chris, live in a major rock-climbing destination gateway town. "We have amazing access to materials to recycle within our community and from those who pass through, and have recycled tens of thousands of meters of rope to date," she says.

Love it, and so does everyone else

I received a yellow-rope variety as a warm color. It is formed exactly correctly and a standard soda can slips right in but isn't loose. I've been using it for about 6 months on a daily basis. It doesn't really keep cold things cold, however it keeps my hands from getting cold, plus I don't drink coffee from a mug, but it's fun to hold a mug 🤷‍♀️. On the rope end at the top, there was a small chunk of fiber that was both melted and loose. Hitting it with a small flame did the trick. Really like this for me, considering it as a gift for others in the future.

Love it

Fits a regular beer can/bottle. Love that it's the reclaimed rope being upcycled for this. Really cool. A tad bit worried that it might come off as everything is glued together and I couldn't tell if there are any stitches inbetween, hope it holds up with use!
