Praxinoscope Animation Spinner

Before the silver screen was a part of our regular entertainment roster, motion picture had another meaning. Just give this colorful carousel a spin and you’ll see just we mean. Inspired by French inventor Emile Reynaud’s 1877 praxinoscope, the animation viewer brings images to life through an optical illusion. Place a slide in the drum (it comes with 19 featuring different characters), turn the center knob, and watch as a moving scene’s reflected on mirrored panels. A delightful way to display a bit of movie magic (and history) in your home, it also makes a charming gift for any cinephile or animation buff. Made in Spain.
