Great Gift!
My husband is a huge baseball fan, so I thought this would be a great gift. And it was! The whole concept cool but the thing that I wanted to share is just how great this opener feels in your hand. Really worth the $$!

Have a question about information that was to be included
There was to be a story card to include instructions for its special hologram number. I considered this to make the item worth its price. That information does not seem to be included unless it is "hidden" in some way. The card enclosed is very general. Do I acquire the info from mlb.com/authentication?
Response from merchant
Hi! We're sorry for the confusion. The story card does not give the information about the bat but it does include instructions for its special authenticity hologram number that you can look up on mlb.com/authentication which will give you the information of which game the bat was used in.

Not worth the price
The hardware on the end is so bulky that it doesn't actually work as a bottle opener as it won't fit around the bottle cap. The metal piece is too thick and slips off. This is a high price to pay for what amounts to a novelty item.

Perfect Christmas Gift!
Bought for my parents bar but I'm not sure they'll use it because it's such a cool piece of Cleveland Indians Team history, they might just display it in their bar. Either way, they loved it so I'm happy!

Great, unique gift
I got this for my dad for Christmas and he loved it! It was really cool that you can enter the code on the bat and know what game it was used in, what player used it, and what play. #sweepstakes

Hello, We have lost the instructions on how to look up what game the bat was played in. Can you send us the instructions again?
Verified reply from Jasmine
Unfortunately, each box comes with instructions and we do not have them on hand. We can possibly set up a replacement order and replace yours so it comes with the instructions in the new one.

Does this item come with a certificate of authenticity?
Verified reply from Kailey
Each opener comes gift-boxed with a story card including instructions for its special authenticity hologram number, indicating which game the bat was used in.
- Tracy
I recently saw one of these, which contained the actual bat " knob" from the end of the bat, instead of simply a piece of the bat. Is it possible to request the bat "knob"?
Verified reply from Nichole
That sounds very cool, but unfortunately it's not possible. We can't guarantee that you'd receive the knob of the bat, but Ward Wallau, the artist, will make each one look great – you can count on that.

If I order this today being that the item is back-ordered and would ship out next year, would I get a bat from this year or next year?
Verified reply from Sue
If you ordered a Cubs bottle opener today, even though you will receive it next year, the bat used would be from the from last 1-2 years.

What is the website where the receiver can check when the bat was used? Also, why does it say in the product video that the number will give information on the date and batter, if, in another answered question here, it says just the date (and not the batter).
Verified reply from Nichole
We apologize for the confusion! The website to learn when the bat was used will be written on the story card that comes with the bottle opener. When the video mentions "whose bat it was," it's most likely referring to which team used the bat, and not an individual. The team name and the date of the game is the only information available.

when ordering a Baseball Bat Bottle Openers, does it always tell you who's bat it was and for what game?
Verified reply from Marisa
It tells you which game, but not who the batter was.

I understand that obviously not every bat can be an iconic grand slam or game winning RBI, but is there anyway to ensure it wasn't a strikeout let down at least? Despite the cool concept, that would kind of take away from the luster if they looked it up on the MLB site. Kind of a "wah wahhh" for a strikeout at bat. While I'm at it, is there anyway to request specific batters? Or at least a view of what batters are available in your stock vs. random? The ability to specify batter requests (while supplies last of course) would be great. Just various thoughts. Very cool product though! Thanks!
Verified reply from Marisa
You're right it would be great to have all or any of those options. Sadly, we're not able to. They would be far more expensive and rarer if one could specify a base hit or specific batter. But you did make us laugh with your "wah wahhh" comment. Ha!
