Disappointed when the MTA filled in the "Y" cutout of their classic subway tokens, Ward Wallau was inspired to find a fun way to incorporate the unaltered tokens into cufflinks. He wanted to prove to the MTA that the original tokens were worthy of celebrating and repurposing and, after 11 years of "no," Ward became the first licensee of the New York City MTA. Since that time, this "authenticity hound," has assembled and grew his team of artisans, production staff, and authenticators in Berkeley, California, where they re-imagine nostalgic artifacts as unique gifts that tell a story. Ward loves breathing new life into things that already exist, be it letterpress blocks, a wooden seat from Wrigley Field, or a bat broken at a Major League baseball game. "This business is ever-challenging, dynamic, and satisfying," he says. "It's not a good day if you don't learn something new!"

Big disappointment
Such a disappointment! Instead of the jersey material inside of the wallet being islanders blue and orange, it was plain old white. Buyer beware.

I wanted to love this...
...but the yellow stitching on the black leather was crooked in several places. Given the high cost, the machine stitching should be straight. Please note that the product is "vegan leather," i.e. not real leather. Lastly, there was a small black stain on the game used jersey. Given the high cost of this item, I expected better quality. I returned it.

Best gift for die-hards&sports card/memorabilia collectors!
I've been looking for a new wallet for my boyfriend for quite a while now...he hates anything I've come across so far. So when I came across this, being a bi-fold wallet, not bulky with too many card spaces, I bought it. I was hesitant about the price, but once I saw it I knew it was well worth it! The leather and stitching are flawless, and best of all...? He told me that it was the best thing that ANYONE has ever bought for him! And glad I ordered when I did seeing that it's now sold out!

Amazing! So impressed
I purchased this for my boyfriend for our anniversary and I am so happy with my purchase. I just came back to leave a review and saw they are now sold out so I'm super happy I purchased from their site when I did because I know I would be heartbroken if I couldn't get it in time for next month. The gift box it came in is a nice touch. The bill separator / jersey looks so great! There is a what I think is a portion of the bruins logo (B) so I got more than I expected, obviously they are all different. The jersey was from a recent season and the player is still on the team so that's a plus to me. This is such a special gift and I feel it's worth every penny. I can't wait to see his reaction.

Perfect gift for the sports fan
I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my husband, who is a die hard Ranger's fan. He almost hates to use it he loves it so much! Every detail was taken into consideration when making this wallet. My husband especially enjoyed the fact that you can look up exactly who wore this particular Jersey and during which games. If you're on the fence about buying this as a gift, or for yourself, GET ONE!

I received my order today and am very pleased with the quality, however there is not a hologram on the jersey part of the wallet as the description states there will be. There is also not an ID # to look-up authenticity. Can you please provide me with where else to look for the hologram and ID#? Thank you!

Multiple player uniforms have been processed in crafting these wallets thus the swatch used as the bill divider cannot be linked to the specific player who wore it. But rest assured, the game used jerseys used to make the billfolds of these wallets are procured directly from the NHL teams or official NHL partners. A Certificate of Authenticity communicates the chain of possession.
