Handmade by artisans in Kyrgyzstan.

When Kyrgyzstan became an independent country in 1991, most of the nation's talented artists fled to larger and more creative cities. But maker Gulnara Kydyrmyshova stayed behind and established a small retail store with the vision to revive Kyrgyz craftsmanship and help relieve her nation of poverty through the trade of handmade felted works. She started by conducting free sewing classes to unemployed women in her community. For over a decade, she has supported local artisans by selling felted handicrafts in her store.

Adorable But Misshapen Upon Arrival

The dumpling booties are very cute and well-made, as is the steamer. However, the steamer arrived crushed, even though it was shipped in a box. It looks like it was not stored carefully before shipment or it was stuffed haphazardly into the box because the box itself arrived just fine. Not sure if I'm going to keep it unless I can figure out a way to reshape the steamer, as it is meant to be a gift. Luckily, the shoes themselves are fine. If the steamer was not damaged, this would be perfect! Super disappointing. I would recommend if item arrived in better shape.

If you like to nibble on baby toes, (and who doesn't?) this is the gift for you. Not only are these booties the cutest thing ever, but my Granddaughter still plays with the dumplings and steamer two years later! Beautifully made.

Absolutely Adorable - Unique

In today's world, where mass-produced goods of such little quality can be purchased with a click of a button, these Dumpling Booties are a true find.
